So, the window ice crystal decorations were definitely an indication of things to come. The picture of the crystals was taken 12/28 and on 12/31 we woke up to a dusting of snow.
What a wonderful surprise!
It was just enough to tease but not enough to fool all of the critters who seemed to still be out in force the following day as it began to melt.

Snow may have melted but it was still cold enough to keep the bird skating rink open.
Although they were stirring, they were also putting on their winter coats.
Either that or they were trying to intimidate us!
Or ignoring us.
There was this strange feeling in the air though.
Like they knew something we didn’t.
And in the afternoon.... it started falling again!
The next day was perfect for a walk.
